# Onebrief / R5 · Light, not paint

**Strategic centre:** One shared now. Every staff on one live picture; the commander decides on what is true now.

**The move:** colour as light, not paint. One hue, Onebrief blue #019EFF, means one thing: act here (the selection, the next action, the latest change). The room is a cool neutral ramp tinted toward the blue. Importance is a ladder of light (dormant, resting, reading, active, signal), and every state is also named in words, so brightness never carries a distinction alone. Category is type and position: columns and labels name Political, Military and Economic in full. Change is a pass of light along an edge with a revision tag. Focus is depth.

## Organized files

- `components/light` (Shared Day) and `components/dark` (Command Night): 50 controls per mode, each with named default, hover, focus, active, disabled and loading layers and a hidden construction grid. Archivo faces are embedded as subsets of the characters each file uses.
- `outlined/...`: the same drawings with every glyph as a path, for tools that substitute fonts.
- `import-ready/light`: outlined default-state snapshots for importers that ignore SVG state CSS.
- `screens`: the live board, desktop and phone, both modes. `boards`: the brand-system board and six category boards per mode.
- `campaigns`: email, social A and B, the app entry from the site, and the A/B test plan.
- `icons` (32, currentColor, hidden construction and type-reference layers), `shapes` (5 primitives), `fonts`, `tokens.json`, `component-manifest.json`.

## Type

Archivo (Omnibus-Type, SIL Open Font License 1.1), one variable family across its width axis: ExtraCondensed 800 (wdth 62) for numerals and titles that carry a view; Condensed 700 (75) for view titles; SemiCondensed 600 and 700 (87.5) for headings and labels (caps, +0.09em); Archivo 400 to 700 (100) for reading, fields and buttons. Static faces and the variable source are in `fonts/`.

## Standards kept

The CAPCO classification banner keeps its green. Map symbols keep their MIL-STD-2525 affiliation fills, so hostile red is the only loud colour and it only means hostile. These are drawn to match the source screens; nothing here claims compliance with either standard.

## Limits

An independent, speculative redesign by Jason Walker, not the Onebrief product and not validated with operational users. Sample content comes from Onebrief’s published notional plan (CONPLAN JTF 505); the change states (revision 044) illustrate the change treatment. SVGs are vector visual specifications; native behaviour is demonstrated in the library’s control lab.
