“Great branding gives permission to be gloriously irrational.”
My own brand philosophy, made into the interactive opening this site ran on until September 2026: a countdown, the Walker lockup, one statement and fifteen plates of typography, photography, halftone and motion, played by scroll.
01The Experience
This is the sequence itself, not a recording of it, kept exactly as it ran. It plays from the countdown on every visit; Replay and a way back to this page stay in the lower left corner throughout, and it ends on a panel that returns here.
02The Thesis
Thesis
Great branding gives permission to be gloriously irrational.
Intervention
I translated a brand philosophy into an interactive sequence of typography, brand imagery, halftones and motion, one permission per plate, played by the reader’s own scroll.
Each plate states what a brand gives a person permission to do, in the first person, over a photograph of someone doing it: to witness what matters, to refuse the comfort of good enough, to let desire outrun reason. The sequence then turns the argument into a method, the three battles every brand fights, and ends on the person who makes it.
03Every Plate
The opening’s five beats, then all fifteen plates, each captured at its settled hold. Select any one to see it at full size; on a phone the index shows the portrait compositions the sequence uses there. The brands are reference brands, chosen to illustrate the idea. None of them commissioned or endorsed this work.

04How It Moves
05Where It Stands
This opening introduced JasonWalker.design through build 6.12.0. When the homepage moved to its current form in September 2026, the full sequence was kept here with its own copy of every script and stylesheet it depends on, so it cannot drift as the site changes. It is a personal study of a brand philosophy, not client work, and the brands on the plates are references, not clients.
