01 / Invitation
Start with your place.
What would make the next conversation useful for your team?
Explore CoramStarts with a person’s question rather than a product feature.
Approach 02 / Recognition
Give the ordinary day the foreground and recognise the people who make room for it.
Premise
The first hello. The late bus. The colleague who knows where everyone should be. A place runs on the people who care for it.
ObservantSpecificUnhurried
Notice something real before asking for attention. Let a person lead the sentence. Name small responsibilities that accumulate into care.
Visual grammar. Newsreader gives the headline a human editorial voice; Manrope carries practical information. Chalk, deep green and a restrained apricot accent make space for natural photographic variety. The open-corner motif is a conceptual extension of the aperture’s opening: it can hold a margin, reveal a place or introduce a story. It is new campaign artwork, not an extracted logo segment.
Motif family
Application
The first hello.
The motif holds the margin and lets the day begin inside it.
Construction beside application. The motif establishes hierarchy, relationship or orientation; it stays out of faces, evidence and text.
The complete family
Four constructions (01 to 04) and their rotated orientations (05 to 08). Eight files, one family. Editable SVG at assets/images/work/coram/motifs/.
Film / Fifty seconds
A goodbye at the curb, someone remembering a first day, a boy about to read aloud, a teacher who makes time to listen. The product enters only when the people have: Coram connects video and response tools, so the team can see what needs attention and coordinate the next step.
The close is the campaign line and its support: Ordinary takes a lot. Connected video and response tools help your team keep it that way.
Playback starts only when you press play, from the opening music. A dramatisation of fictional people and places with an illustrative interface; no all-clear, no prevention claim.
Film / Thirty-eight seconds / The same direction at a church
Someone has already opened the doors. A familiar face, a first-time visitor, a place to belong, and people quietly looking after it: checking an entrance, passing on a detail, knowing who can take the next step. The Open Day’s recognition of the people who make room for an ordinary day, carried to a second kind of place; the direction, its type and its palette hold still.
The close is the campaign line and its support: Ordinary takes a lot. Connected video and response tools. For the people looking after this place.
Playback starts only when you press play, from the opening music. A dramatisation of fictional people and places: the photography is generated and the interface is a designed prototype, not a shipped product or a real deployment.
Logo motion study / Eight seconds
The eight source aperture parts hold an expanded space, draw together and settle into the exact Coram wordmark. The reveal gives room to the day, then places the brand beside it.
Coram’s source aperture geometry is preserved exactly when the mark settles. The expanded parts are campaign motion, not an approved logo variant. This is a logo motion study, not the commercial; the film above carries the campaign.
Playback starts only when you press play. With reduced motion preferred, the poster frame stands for the study.
The relationship, in use
Invitation, evidence, handoff, preparation, recognition, reflection, progress and voice. Each is a behaviour the identity supports, shown here in this direction’s own type and colour.
01 / Invitation
What would make the next conversation useful for your team?
Explore CoramStarts with a person’s question rather than a product feature.
02 / Evidence
Illustrative preparation example.
Keeps observation, question and next step distinct so a reader can check each.
03 / Handoff
No one assigned in this example.
Names a person, and admits a neutral unassigned state instead of pretending.
04 / Preparation
Local-only example. The choice stays on this page.
Makes room for local knowledge through a real choice.
05 / Recognition
You spotted the two versions. That gives the team a useful place to start.
Acknowledges a specific contribution, not a general performance.
06 / Reflection
This practice note stays on this page only.
Keeps one practical improvement in view for the next conversation.
07 / Progress
A question is a useful beginning.
No readiness score or safety claim.
Recognises preparation without inventing a score.
08 / Voice
Product description
Coram connects video, access and response.
Human invitation
For the people who make room for an ordinary day.
Observant. Specific. Unhurried.
Connects a factual product description to a human invitation.
Preparation and brand-behaviour demonstrations with local-only state. These controls do not operate Coram, contact anyone or record anything. They are not a redesign of Coram’s shipping incident-response interface.
What to test
Design rules. Use the motif to establish hierarchy, relationship or orientation. Keep it out of faces, evidence and text. Functional controls keep clear labels, a visible focus state and an unambiguous reading order. Campaign colour never replaces verified warning or emergency colours.
Status. Proposed brand exploration by Jason Walker, September 2026. Photography is generated concept imagery of fictional people and places. Proposed fonts, colours and reversals are study applications, not official Coram standards. Coram’s logo geometry was sourced from its public website on 20 September 2026.
Type. Newsreader for headlines, Manrope for practical information, bundled under the SIL Open Font License at assets/fonts/coram-study/. A deliberate choice for this direction, not a substitute for Coram’s TT Commons Classic.
If the category is talking about detection and no one is showing the people who make an ordinary day, let's show them.
